ABOUT ABOUT

It's a great time to be a digital creator because so many more of us are able to put our stories out into the world.

The traditional, monolithic, gatekeeping structures that prevented marginalized voices from being heard are being challenged by amazing, talented people that are making really cool stuff.

Rifelion Media wants to highlight the folks pushing the boundaries of what is possible.

Schedule:
7:30pm - 8pm — Panel Discussion
8pm - 8:30pm — Audience Q&A

Panelists:
Vignesh Ramesh - Vignesh is an Indian American filmmaker who fell in love with movies as early as he can remember, from bouncing around on living room furniture to the musical numbers of Mary Poppins when he was three, to more recently moving to Los Angeles to pursue a creative career in the industry. He graduated with a degree in Industrial Engineering from Georgia Tech in 2015 and has a career in product management for a boutique consulting firm, but his passions have always lied within writing/directing film. During a gap year he took in 2020, Vignesh wrote a screwball comedy titled “Patent Trolls” which placed as a second-rounder in the Austin Film Festival screenplay competition. He also produced and directed a short film based around that screenplay, and continues to write and direct on artistic projects within the greater LA area. Most recently Vignesh's co-written screenplay "Dead Fast" was a semi-finalist as part of the ISF x Rifelion Writer's Access Initiative.

Younis Alzubeiri - Younis is a digital content creator and budding actor who began making comic-related videos when he was just 14. He now has more than 100k TikTok followers and has since expanded the scope of topics he posts about.
